Cookies and storage
Last updated: 17 October 2026
In short: we don't use cookies or advertising. Your study progress is saved in your own browser, so the site can remember where you got to. We also ask whether we can count your visits anonymously. Counting only starts if you click Accept, and you can change your choice at any time.
Cookies
This site doesn't set any cookies, and it doesn't load content from other companies (no social media buttons, no adverts, no externally hosted fonts) that could set cookies of their own. Our visit counter, described below, doesn't use cookies either.
What we save in your browser
To remember your progress, the site uses your browser's local storage. It works like a small notebook kept by your browser on your device. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and it stays until you clear it.

When we ask for consent
Under the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), websites must ask permission before storing information on your device, unless the storage is strictly necessary to provide something you've asked for.
Everything listed above exists only to provide the features you're using, such as tracking your progress, keeping your missed questions and remembering your display preference. None of it is used for tracking, analytics or advertising, and none of it leaves your device, so it doesn't need your consent.
Visit counting. We use GoatCounter to count visits anonymously. It sets no cookies, but its script reads some details from your browser, such as your screen width, when it sends a visit. Because it isn't strictly necessary, we ask first. The pop-up you see on your first visit has equally clear Accept and Decline buttons, and the counter doesn't load at all until you click Accept. The details are in our privacy policy, and you can change your choice here:
If we ever add anything else that isn't strictly necessary or covered by these rules, we'll ask for your consent first, and it won't run until you agree.
Moving it to another device
Because your progress stays in this browser, it doesn't follow you to a new phone or computer. You can download it as a file, then restore that file on the other device. The file is saved by your browser and isn't uploaded to us. Your visit-counting choice isn't included, so each device asks for itself.
How to remove it
Use this button to delete everything this site has saved on this device, including your visit-counting choice:
You can also clear "site data" for this website in your browser's settings, or use a private browsing window, where nothing is kept after you close it. The site still works if storage is blocked; it just won't remember your progress.
