Cloud Cert Prep

Privacy policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Cloud Cert Prep is a free study site. You don't need an account, there are no forms to fill in, and we don't show adverts or use cookies. If you agree, we count your visits anonymously, so we can see which pages people find useful.

This policy explains the small amount of information involved in using the site, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Cloud Cert Prep is an unregistered business based in the United Kingdom. It is run by its owner, who is the data controller for this website. A contact email address will be added to this page soon.

What we don't collect

Information saved on your own device

To remember your progress, the site saves a few small items in your browser's local storage. This is part of your browser on your own device. It is never sent to us, and we can't see it.

It holds things like the questions you've answered, which ones you missed, the lessons you've completed and whether you prefer light or dark mode. The full list is in our cookies and storage policy.

To carry on from another device, you can download it as a file and restore it there. The file is saved by your browser, on your device. It isn't uploaded to us.

You can delete it at any time with the button below, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Information our hosting provider processes

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like every web server, Netlify's servers receive basic technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. Netlify uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure, for example to protect against attacks.

Netlify processes this information for us as a processor, under its data processing terms. It may be processed in the United States, with safeguards recognised under UK law for international transfers. We don't use these logs to identify you. You can read more in Netlify's privacy statement.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a working, secure website (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Counting visits

If you agree, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, open-source visit counter, to see how many people use the site and which pages are popular. We ask the first time you visit, and the counter doesn't run until you click Accept. If you decline, nothing is counted. When a page loads, it sends one small request with the page address, the page title, the page you came from, your browser and operating system (from your browser's standard "user agent" information) and your screen width. GoatCounter also works out your approximate location from your IP address at that moment: the country, and for a few countries the region.

Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can change your mind at any time, here or with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page. Changing it only affects future visits on this device:

If you email us

If you contact us by email, we'll use your email address and message only to reply to you. We'll delete the correspondence when it's no longer needed, normally within 12 months. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in answering your enquiry.

Children

The site is designed for adults and older students preparing for professional exams. Because we don't collect personal information, nobody of any age is asked to provide any.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

In practice we hold almost nothing about you. Progress saved on your device can be deleted by you at any time using the button above. Once our contact email address is published on this page, you can use it to make a request.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first, so please contact us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works, we'll update this page and the date at the top first. Anything that needs your consent will ask for it before it starts.
